Aegean House

The brief asked for a house that would disappear into its hillside. We answered with a sequence of low, whitewashed volumes arranged around a shaded courtyard.

Thick walls and small, deep-set openings temper the Aegean sun; the courtyard pool cools the prevailing breeze before it reaches the living spaces.

Local stone, lime plaster, and reclaimed timber root the house in its place.
