Perched above the bay, the original warehouse had stood vacant for three decades. Our survey revealed remarkably intact load-bearing stone walls beneath layers of failed render.
The design strips the building back to its essential geometry. New steel-framed glazing sits respectfully within the original arched openings, while a terraced garden steps down the hillside, extending the dining room into the landscape.
Every intervention is reversible — a core principle of our conservation philosophy. The new sits lightly within the old.
The Transformation
Before & After
Three decades of decay stripped back: failed render removed, stone walls repointed, and the dining room opened to the bay.
