Adaptive reuse of a riverside customs house into a 42-room boutique hotel — vaulted halls retained as public salons.

The customs house had served the river trade for over a century. Its great vaulted halls — once stacked with cargo — now hold the hotel's lobby, restaurant, and winter garden.
Guest rooms occupy a new timber-framed volume set back from the historic façade, invisible from the river. Original brick vaults were cleaned, repointed, and left exposed.
The project received the city's adaptive-reuse commendation in 2024.
